What is difference between Home Care and a Care home?

What is In-Home Care?

In-home care for the elderly, or just home care, is a type of care provided to seniors to live independently in their homes with some help. These types of caregivers provide seniors with help on everyday tasks including things like meal preparation, daily grooming, social interaction, and a myriad of other tasks.

The pros: If you are a senior that wants to maintain your normal everyday routine, you can. Home care providers provide care in your home. Similar to in-home care, the services of a care home provide help with daily, non-medical tasks, It’s where care can be provided to small groups of elderly or people who are disabled. The rooms in these facilities can be private or shared.

The pros: This includes being in a facility with other seniors that are receiving care. This means you can interact with these people daily.

The cons: You will not retain that same independence of receiving care in your home. Being a part of a care home means that will become your permanent home. It’s where you receive your meals, do laundry, etc.

Many people think that it is difficult or expensive to get an in-home caregiver. But, the reality is that through the Community Care Program, you can be eligible to get a caregiver through Medicaid.

On the other hand, the community care program also allows it so that you may have an adult child become your formal caregiver.
