What is Home Care?
April 20, 2018A home care agency can provide the senior care assistance you need to live independently.
Home care, also known as in-home care, is supportive assistance provided in the comfort of your own home. If you’re a senior at risk of going to an assisted living facility or nursing home, you might find that a home care agency can provide a better option for you.
Care is provided by licensed home care agency that trains professional caregivers who provide daily assistance to ensure the activities of daily living (ADLs) are met.
Caregivers may help seniors with daily tasks such as bathing, eating, cleaning the home and preparing meals. Caregivers work to support the needs of individuals who require such assistance. These services help seniors stay at home versus living in a facility. Non-medical home care is a Medicaid-funded program through the Illinois Community Care Program (CCP).
Older adults in Illinois ages 60+ who are eligible for Medicaid receive services through the CCP.
