Wounded Warrior Project Visits Home Care Powered by AUAF
June 6, 2022Our staff at Home Care Powered by AUAF was visited by our friends with the Wounded Warrior Project on April 8. Project Odyssey Regional Director, Chris Kalantzis, joined us on April 8 to thank us for our donation. Part of our mission is to provide support to community-based programs in the area. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to donate $25,000 to this cause.
About the Wounded Warrior Project
After years serving the United States, many veterans find themselves ignored. The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) formed as a result of that. The nonprofit supports veterans and service members who experienced mental injury, illness, or physical wounds on or after September 11, 2001.
WWP understands that no two veterans are alike. Each requires unique, personalized attention. As a result, WWP supports service members with a variety of amenities. For example, WWP offers veterans mental health support, physical health support, and connections to others in similar circumstances. Service members can also take advantage of career and VA Benefits counseling when transitioning to civilian life.
In addition, those with catastrophic wounds that impact their independence can benefit from the Wounded Warrior Project Independence Program. Through this program, injured veterans can receive:
- Long-term care planning,
- Stress management,
- Alternative therapies,
- Home health care,
- and more.
Supporting Communities in Need
In many ways, the services offered by the WWP align with the services offered at Home Care Powered by AUAF. Both communities require patient, respectful care, but often don’t receive it. Above all, we both strive to make a positive impact on these communities. Therefore, our donation to WWP couldn’t be more fitting.
Veterans across the entire country benefit from the contributions of generous donors. One should never feel ashamed of the amount they donate. Above all, any amount makes a difference to those in need.
